A selection of video appearances.
TEDxPSU 2011– I was the “host” for the day and this talk was a bit different than most, since it was designed to wrap up the day and provide a bit of a challenge to the audience as well.

Christian Brady, Dean of the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University, asks “What kind of light do you want to be?” In his talk, Dean Brady explores how relics from our past can help us learn about the possible ramifications of our actions. He implores his audience to learn from history and to understand the importance of being thoughtful.
Inside Academia – This was a video-podcast interview from 2011 with Andy Nash of Inside Academia (which does not seem to exist any more). He had a particular bend and angle to his questions, but this provides an example of my engaging with an interviewer trying to work a particular agenda. We discuss the concept of core curriculum and social media.
Student engagement – These two videos are a pair of pieces I did with a Scholar alumnus who is a comedian with Second City Comedy troupe. I showed it at “Late Night with the Dean,” a Letterman-style show that we do on the last night of orientation. I do a bit of standup, interview guests, and have student/alumni musical guests. The first video was shown during my stand-up routine and then later, in lieu of an interview, I played the more traditional interview with Brad.
I was being “auctioned” for a date to support pediatric cancer, Penn State’s “THON.”
State of Mind – Finally, I was part of a cable TV show, “State of Mind,” on higher education produced by CUNY Manhattan Borough Community College. I was a part of three episodes looking at issues such as coping with stress and pressure, challenges facing the millennial generation, ethics, and collegiate success.
